Apple Developer Weekly #234 WWDC25 Easter Eggs
Focusing on the fun stuff
From 13
In the past, Apple Developer Weekly was always sent out at 6 AM on Monday mornings, serving as the start of the week for working readers. Many readers have told me that seeing the newsletter in the morning means Monday has arrived.
But this means I was always writing the newsletter on Sunday nights. As the content became richer and the information load grew larger, writing newsletters at night affected my life routine, which wasn't very healthy.
So after consideration, I decided to change the newsletter writing time to Monday mornings, aiming to send it out in the afternoon.
Last week's WWDC25 surely exposed everyone to tons of information. I personally experienced information overload - staying up late to watch the Keynote was exhausting, my whole week's routine was disrupted, and learning efficiency wasn't great.
Plus, I've already written three WWDC-related articles in this past week (Survival Guide, Learning Roadmap, Basic Introduction).
So today I want to try a different approach—focusing on light topics. Not discussing technical stuff, just sharing some fun and interesting things. Hope you'll enjoy it!

Super cool! You need to use your iPhone to "watch" this!
⛄️Apple Developer Forums Legend Eskimo Appears in Person
If you often search for technical issues on Apple's developer forums, you should know there's an Apple engineer called Quinn "The Eskimo". Didn't expect someone could actually meet him in person at WWDC and take a photo!
Don't know how long this photo will remain, but many developers expressed their respect for Eskimo in the tweet replies. He really provided tremendous valuable information, we thank him!
🎤Soul-searching Craig and Greg About Siri—WSJ Reporter Joanna Stern
You can see Apple's current attitude toward AI from their responses.
Last year's Apple Intelligence announcement felt more like the environment forcing Apple to perform. Now that they're back to their own pace, I actually think it's better.

An easter egg in the WWDC video. Not sure if it's a fine or a parking ticket?
🍷Liquid Glass on Touch Bar—@app_settings
This combination is really creative. If the Touch Bar surface had been glossy, it would have been even more fitting.
🥃Apple Pro Mouse vs Liquid Glass Comparison—@app_settings
After this comparison, I also think the old Apple mouse is basically Liquid Glass.
🎮macOS Tahoe Built-in PS DualSense Controller Settings Interface
Apple seems to really love DualSense—it often appears in presentations.
I've tried it myself and really saw this interface (haven't confirmed if Xbox or Switch controllers get the same treatment yet).
🎨Experience Manually Replacing App Icons in macOS Tahoe—@luciascarlet
Creating glass effect icons is simple—just a few clicks with Icon Composer.
But manually replacing them is troublesome; hopefully there'll be easier methods in the future.
🪄Creating Harry Potter's Tom Riddle Diary with Foundation Models—@EthanSaadia
The Tom Riddle diary effect from Harry Potter can now be easily created on iPad using Foundation Models.
😴macOS Tahoe Tells You to Rest After Extended Computer Use—@harryworld
Harry says he's encountered this several times since upgrading his computer to macOS Tahoe. Wonder if friends who've upgraded have experienced this?
📚Group Labs Notes—@samhenrigold
Sam Henri Gold compiled his notes from attending Group Labs. This content won't appear in Apple's official documentation, but the topics discussed and Q&As are quite valuable for reference:
💬Flutter Official Team Collects Developer Feedback on Liquid Glass
As you can imagine, implementing Liquid Glass in Flutter requires significant extra effort, since it doesn't use native components to display the interface.
This link discusses Flutter and Liquid Glass support, along with feedback collection.
