Apple Developer Weekly #235 Code is cheap. Show me the talk.
Work hard, play smart. Remember to rest.
From 13
I haven't been seriously watching WWDC lately, instead I've been playing with Claude Code.
Although I haven't been using it for long, it's another major breakthrough in AI for my workflow.
I wrote an article about these experiences: 🔥Let's Play with Claude Code, and also shared on the weak self podcast: 🎙️Work Hard, Play Smart – Claude Code Hands-on Experience.
I recommend it to friends who aren't afraid to spend a little money to experience the charm of new things.
This issue's title "Code is cheap. Show me the talk." comes from @Jason_Young1231's tweet last week, which I think captures the significance of the current AI technology era.
"Talk is cheap. Show me the code." is Linus's famous quote. But now, under the right conditions, talking to AI can produce quite excellent code. So learning how to give clear instructions has become something very worth studying.
Another thing of historical significance is that Bill Atkinson passed away a few days before WWDC. Bill was an important Apple employee who created many software tools and had a profound impact on the appearance of modern computers.
Last week zonble introduced Bill's invention HyperCard at CocoaHeads Taipei, which I recommend all developers watch.
You'll discover that software and technology not only evolve rapidly but also carry many things passed down through the years.

🎓Apple Releases 81-Page Presentation Teaching You How to Convince Parents to Buy Mac for College
This is marketing genius.
In terms of performance, features, battery life, and durability for value, MacBook Air really is perfect for college students (to me that's a "fact," not an opinion).
The question is how to convince the parents who are paying? Apple has prepared the presentation template for you.
The official YouTube video has been taken down, but the link above still works, or watch it here.
The presentation is made with Google Docs instead of Keynote—very considerate planning.
